This was a question that I answered on Quora, a website I have been playing around with lately.
It’s 2017 (ok, we’re 5 days away). There is simply NO reason not to start an eCommerce store around an interest/passion you have. I see so many people who start an eCommerce store because it has the potential to be profitable, or it’s what every other marketer is doing.
Don’t chase the money, it’s not worth it. You can make a lot of money with a niche you have an interest in, and have a whole lot more fun doing it. You want to have fun in business, trust me on that one. Making money while you’re miserable isn’t any fun. Trust me on that one, too.

I started online in 2010 and have tried a few different business models along the way, with some success here and there.
It wasn’t until June of 2015 that I struck gold and that is when I launched my first eCommerce/dropshipping store with Shopify.

I then increased my budget to $7/day, then to $11/day, and then $16/day and $21/day and on and on and on…

And I often times ask the people what they like doing in their spare time, on the weekends/nights.
What hobbies do they have? What do that have fun doing? A favorite TV show? Or favorite movie? Music?

I believe that any online business is 10% strategy/tactics & 90% mindset.
Every online business comes down to two things….
EVERY online business needs to have traffic to the website, and some of that traffic needs to convert to paying customers. Simple, but not easy.
And it’s the 6 inches between our ears that hold most back, myself (at times) included. Working on your mind is an ongoing thing, and something I suggest you work on DAILY.
