Instead of goals, this year I set habits.
I break it down into 90 week sprints.
One of my
goals, I mean habits for the first quarter of this year is to read one book 2x per month.
First up is my favorite I ever done read — The Slight Edge
It’s about doing little daily disciplines over & over, to achieve success. These little disciplines are easy to do, unfortunately, they are also easy not to do.
I finished the book last night and wanted to share a paragraph with you.
In my opinion, it’s how to accomplish anything your little heart desires…
Do one simple, daily discipline in each of these seven key areas of your life—your health, your happiness, your relationships, your personal development, your finances, your career, and your impact—that forwards your success in each of those areas
I have 4 key areas I track…
However, I am now tracking 19 daily habits in total, as I have multiple habits in each area.
Yesterday, I messaged a friend that some days, “I feel like I am drowning”
Then I read the above last night.
I believe everything happens for a reason.
It reminded me of another quote from the another of that book, Jeff Olson…
Sometimes you need to slow down to go fast.
I am trying to do too much. I need to slow down, and trust the process.
It ain’t all sunshine & rainbows out in Sin City!
