I may or may not be writing this email in my Halloween costume.
We are heading to Amanda’s work Halloween party and wanted to send this quick email out to you about self doubt & offer you some motivation.
Don’t believe me?
We take Halloween very serious here at Cheateu de Dukes.
I am Olaf from Frozen, Ava is a fairy/butterfly and Ashton is Simba from the Lion King.
I have been doing a FB livestream everyday (M-F) since mid-August.
Today will be episode #45
They only get a few views, rarely any likes or comments. That’s not easy to swallow.
This week I considered throwing the towel in on it, as I was not gaining traction with it.
Then I remembered a post in our Dadpreneur Edge group where a guy (Justin) shared how he watched a video of mine, implemented what I talked about and sales came in.
Then on Tuesday, I saw a post from a guy (Justin Brooke) I follow online about a conversation with a mentor of his (yesterday’s email — read here) about doing the basics day in & day out.
Later that day, I saw another post from a mentor of mine in a paid group I am in. He shared how he’s posted to FB 900+ consecutive days & 500+ videos in the last 2 years.
He said his first few dozen posts got ZERO traction. But he kept posting day after day after day after day.
Post #52 got a couple likes
Post #68 got a couple comments and more likes
Post #72 got a couple shares, some comments and more likes
Post #82 went somewhat viral
Post #179 got over a hundred shares
Post #432 was a video that got over 10 MILLION views
His videos have racked up millions & millions of views.
His livestreams get 3k – 5k every time he goes live.
He has a following of 230k on his personal profile, as he doesn’t have a biz profile on FB.
What about sales Adam?
Well, he’s on pace to do $1.5 million this year with no website, paid ads or email list.
The lesson in all this is keep going, keep pushing forward.
There will be shitty days.
There will be times where you want to “throw in the towel”.
There will be days where you doubt yourself.
There will be days you want to burn everything to the ground.
Put your head down, focus on your vision and do the DAILY work.
This entrepreneur thing is not easy. If it were, everyone would be doing it.
I am reminded of this quote….
Entrepreneurship is living a few years of your life like most people won’t, so that you can spend the rest of your life like most people can’t.
Dadpreneur Edge is about sharing our struggles, along with our wins, it’s about inspiring others when times are tough, it’s about sharing insights from our journeys in life.
It’s a whole lotta fun, and if you join by the end of day Monday, I am going to gift you my favorite book — The Slight Edge
Have a great weekend!
And if you’re doing Halloween stuff, don’t be scared to snap a photo with the fam and send it my way.
