Another confession from the West side of the Las Vegas strip.
It all started in 8th grade when little Timmy Barry punched me and called me a….
Ah, never-mind….Not sure where I was going with that.
I suck at creating and achieving goals. Like most people, I am always ready to rock n roll in January and “do big things” and “next year is gonna be my year” type thinking.
And February rolls around and I am crying in a McDonald’s parking lot eating cheeseburgers, french fires and wondering my new workout clothes don’t fit anymore.
My goals are usually in my head, very rarely do I write them down.
That changed , yesterday.
Did you know…
You are 42% more likely to achieve your goals just by writing them down.
2016 is about 36 hours away, and I have spent this week plotting & planning for next year. No, I am not looking for “world domination” or to build a multi-million dollar business.
I am looking to automate & outsource more of my business, so I can gamble more spend more time with with kids. And travel. And enjoy life.
I started reading a book called The 12 Week Year, by Brian Moran yesterday.
You should be able to guess what the book is about.
It’s a book I have heard great things about, and already started implementing what Brian teaches.
I have created ONE goal for each of the core four I live by;
- Body = Fitness
- Being = Spiritual
- Balance = Relationships
- Business = Income
Keeping things simple for 2016.
These goals WILL be accomplished by April 1st and that is NOT an early April Fools joke 🙂
Do you have your goals in place for 2016?
Any tips, tricks or strategies you can share with me?
Like I said, this is an area of my life that I am not very good at, kinda like cooking, cleaning, doing laundry, dancing, sharing my feelings, being compassionate, feeding the baby, alright, you probably get the point by now.
So if you have any pointers, I am all ears.
Forbes reports a remarkable study about goal-setting carried out in the Harvard MBA Program. You can read that here.
A fantastic read about the power of writing them down and having a plan in place.
Have a Happy New Year!
