How many times have you heard that phrase?
I’ve been an online entrepreneur for 6 years….
Honest to God, I just spelled “entrepreneur” right for the first time in probably 2,915 attempts!
This is HUGE. It’s been 6+ years of trying, and I finally did it.
Sorry, I had to share that feat with you. I am super impressed with myself.
What You Should Do If You’re Looking to Start an Online Business
The other day, a guy emailed me about how to start an online business.
A loaded question, but I have been asked this one before.
And I give the same answer in the video below…
So that video shares WHAT to do, and below I am going to share HOW to do it.
How You Can Add Value to Your Marketplace
If you’ve been an online marketer for more than 13 seconds, you’ve heard the “You have to add value to your marketplace”.
You hear it over & over, but for good reason, because it’s true.
You give more, and you get more.
That is a quote from a YouTube video I listen to daily from a motivational speaker. I repeat it to myself all the time.
People always share WHY you should give value, but not many people share HOW to give value. And I see people ask this question often and I think they just overthink it, which is SUPER common. At times, I overthink it as well.
You add value by adding YOU!
Read a book and pick up a tip?
Share a quick post on Facebook about what you learned.
Close a big business deal?
Take out your phone, record a quick video and share it on YouTube and/or Facebook.
Struggling with something? Your kids? Your wife? Your clients?
What did you learn from it? How did you handle it? Share with with others as that is adding value.
Did you make a mistake?
Write a blog post about it.
See a meme online that made you think?
Share your thoughts. I have created Facebook livestreams from a meme I saw online.
Read a comment online from someone that sparked some emotion in you?
Post your thoughts on Facebook and get a discussion going.
Adding value is not difficult. This doesn’t even cover you sharing your expertise in creating content like blog posts, audios and/or videos. What I described above, is more about doing this on a daily basis and “being seen” and consistent.
Now, putting yourself out there, can be challenging. That is something you need to get over, and it takes practice.
I practice it daily, and I track it. I create a livestream, a blog post, a Facebook post, share something with my Facebook group and send an email to my tribe everyday.
The question I try and ask myself multiples times per day is…
How do I add value to the Dad-preneurs out there?
When you focus on adding value to your marketplace, the money follows. If you’re not where you want to be, you’re not adding enough value. It’s as simple as that and that is the mindset you have to adopt. You have to take 100% responsibility for where you are (or aren’t) in your business.
Speaking of adding value..
