Where did you think I was going with that one??
You’re right, my Mom says I am different — like the kids who try to bite their ears.
When I start reading a book, I am committed to finishing it, even if I am not crazy about it.
I don’t know, I guess…
…it hurts when I stop
I’m currently in the middle of reading 2 books right now — Extreme Ownership & Influence.
I rarely read 2 books at once, but the first one didn’t grab me like I had hoped, hence starting a new one.
As I was doing my workout last night, I looked at my bookshelf and something told me to read the first few pages of this one…
I spent an hour reading it last night, and probably another 45 minutes reading it this morning.
Now, this was a book I read in ’06, when I first moved out to Sin City
This was pre-entrepreneurship, pre-kids, pre-getting kicked out of the Palms, Caesars Palace (twice), MGM, and skinny dipping at the Wynn.
It’s about a Michigan football coach, but the book is about leadership, not all about football. I think a lot of people assume they have to be Michigan and/or football fans to enjoy it.
Simply not true.
I strive to be a better leader for my kids, my family, friends & people I have the honor to work with.
This guy knew how to be honest, direct & confident, but most importantly — he knew how to lead
His teachings can be taught on a football field, a home, a boardroom, a community, a business, a church or just about anywhere someone needs to lead.
If you’re interested in becoming a better leader, I cannot recommend this book enough.
You can grab a copy here
If you pick it up, please let me know as I would love to chat about it.
