What a weekend.
Amanda had the day off yesterday — President’s Day.
When she has a 3 day weekend, I have a 3 day weekend.
Well, I put in work yesterday.
A lot of work actually, just not business related.
I cleaned out the entire garage. Took a carload of items to Good Will. Cleaned up the backyard. Hand washed the car.
It wasn’t all work, we did have some fun….
That is Ava riding my (old) tricycle. The same one my parents gave me in 1984. This was a 31 year old “hand me down” this past Christmas from my parents.
Ava & I also had a little picnic, in the backyard. Well, we both ate chips, and she sipped on apple juice.
I didn’t start a Shopify store to work more, I did it to work less.
A lot of people want to brag about how hard they work, or ‘rise & grind’ or hustle harder, or whatever.
I started a Shopify store as an experiment last June. I quickly realized how easy it was to scale an eCom business.
Scale meaning — to get others to do the work, while I clean the garage, wash the car, or have a picnic with Ava.
Ya know — live my life, on my terms.
What I am about to share is not a “look at me” post.
This is intended to inspire you, of what is possible with eCommerce.
I would guesstimate that I worked 3-4 hours this entire weekend (3 days).
Here are the total sales for the weekend…
Again, this is total sales, NOT profit.
Here is a breakdown of the real numbers (over 3 days), that most will not share with you….
- Facebook advertising: $4,163.92
- Cost of Goods: $3,108.63
- Team members: $152.50
- Profit: $3,404.21
Roughly, $1,100 profit each day over this holiday weekend.
Not bad for someone who still (after 34 years!) misspells ‘there’ and ‘their’.
Again, I worked about 3-4 hours this weekend, with a lot of that time writing this email.
I love Christmas, Easter and Halloween, but my favorite holiday is now President’s Day.

We can discuss whatever you want.
Well, not my gambling problems.
Or anything to do with my Detroit sports teams, because that’ll just make me cry.
Other than that, it’s wide open.
