A quarter million views on a piece of your content?
Do I have your attention now?
A buddy of mine shared something with me the other day.
It was an answer to a question on Quora, the website where people ask questions about ANYTHING, and people can answer them.
It was an GREAT answer, and it had 247 THOUSAND views!
It was posted about a year and a half ago, but I was blown away with the number of people who read his answer.
I emailed my buddy about it, and told him the view count.
He ended up emailing me some Shopify questions that were posted on the site.
By the way — That is how you get on Santa Dukes’ Christmas list
So last night, I decided to answer a few questions.
Not only was it fun, but it was therapeutic for me.
It got me thinking…no sense in just leaving the content there, I ought to re-purpose some of the answers…
…On my blog
Maybe a couple YouTube videos…
Or a Facebook post.
One of the posts from last night had 241 views when I woke up this morning.
That one will get turned into a blog post, and probably a YouTube video.
I’m all about working smarter, not harder.
The question posted on Quora was…
What businesses can I operate from my living room that will create a six-figure salary?
I launched a series of videos last summer called eCom60, where I answered commonly asked questions about eCommerce. I had a lot of fun doing it, but ran out of questions.
So Quora is going to be my new playground (hobby).
Follow me on
Tinder there and you should get notifications when I answer questions.
Here is an idea for you…
- Go to Quora
- Find your area of expertise
- Answer one question per day for the next 7 days
I plan to try and answer 2-3 per day, 5-6 days a week.
In a month’s time, I should have 50 (or so) answers. These answers are like little minions working for me, as you can share you own links — to your opt in, sales page, blog, Facebook page, etc.
Don’t abuse the self-promotion though, I didn’t leave any links in any of my posts last night.
Six months later, I should have 300 or so answers posted on the 72nd post popular website in the United States.
It’s The Slight Edge approach, which is my favorite business book.
Your online content is like your best employee that works 24/7/365.
Who never calls in sick…
…or complains about the TPS reports.
…or flirts with Debbie in accounting.
…or gets too drunk at the company picnic.
You get the point.
